Sheffield( Yorkshire) ဒေသတွင် ထေရာဝါဒ ဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာဘုန်တော်ကြီးကျောင်း မရှိခဲ့သဖြင့် ထိုဒေသတွင် ဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာကို စိတ်ဝင်စားသူများ၊ ထေရာဝါဒဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာကို နာလည်းသိရှိ ကျင့်ကြံနိုင်စေရန် ထေရာဝါဒဘုန်တော်ကြီးကျောင်း လိုအပ်ပါသည်။ ထိုဒေသတွင် နေထိုင်ကြသော မြန်မာနိုင်ငံသား မိသားစုများတို့အတွက်လည်း သာရေးနာရေး ဘာသာရေးများဆောင်ရွက်ပြီး ကုသိုလ်တရားများပွားများရာ၊ ကောင်းမြတ်သော ဗုဒ္ဓဘာသာ မြန်မာယဉ်ကျေးမှုများကို လေ့လာစောင့်ထိမ်းနိုင်ရန်လည်း မြန်မာဘုန်းတော်ကြီးကျောင်း လိုအပ်ပါသည်။ ထိုလိုအပ်သည်များကို ဖြည့်ဆည်နိုင်ရန် ဓမ္မကာရာမဘုန်တော်ကြီးကျောင်းကို ကျိုးစားတည်ထောင်ခဲ့ကြပါသည်။

ယခုအခါ U.K အစိုးရ charity Commission မှ Teravada Buddhist Trust အမည်ဖြင့် Charity (Registered Charity Number:1160584.) အဖြစ် အသိအမှတ်ပြုထားပါသည်။

ဗုဒ္ဓသာသနာ အရှည်တည်၍ စည်ပင်ပြန့်ပွားနိုင်စေရန်နှင့် မြတ်စွာဘုရား၏ တရားတော်များကို လူအများ နာလည်းကျင့်သုံးသဖြင့် လောကလူသားများ ငြိမ်းအေးချမ်းသာမှု တိုးတက်ရရှိစေရန်အတွက် အားလုံး တက်နိုင်သလို ဝိုင်းဝန်းပြီး ကျိုးစားအားထုပ်နေကြပါသည်။

1. To advance the Theravada Buddhism practice in South Yorkshire area for the benefit of the public by encouraging and facilitating religious practice through provision of place of worship which will hold religious ceremonies, mass chanting open to the public, prayer meetings, public celebration of religious festivals and long and short-stay retreats.

2. To promote awareness and understanding of Theravada Buddhism by providing regular religious teachings and meditation practices for the general public.

3. To provide religious devotional acts by facilitating the Buddhist reverend visiting the sick and encouragement and support of pastoral work.
